Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a singer who plays back actor, actress and musician. She primarily works as a performer and music composer for Tamil and Malayalam films. Her first appearance as an actor was in the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam which was followed by her Malayalam debut was in Annayum Rasoolum's film. Andrea Jeremiah is an Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is lawyer at the Madras High Court. She is the younger cousin of an assistant researcher in Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah grew up near Chennai, attended National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea began studying classical piano at the age of eight. She was a massive geek who wanted to become a psychiatrist. She performed in The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars at age 10. It was this group that shaped her musical and singing career. In addition, she performed as professional theatre performers in the university. Andrea was women's college's president. Student Senate. Andrea began her theatre career with Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she was part of the Leo Coffee commercial alongside Shiva. In 2006, she also appeared in a serial which relayed in Podhigai channel. She has performed on stage in India. She played a brief role in the final scene of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to perform the role of a leading character after she sang in Vettaiyaadu's Vettaiyaadu. The film was an adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed, with Andrea portraying Kalyani a homemaker whose husband is involved in an affair and is blackmailed. Andrea was cast in the role following Simran and Tabu Two actresses were offered the role by producers. The film came out in the beginning of 2010. In 2011, she agreed to take on a small support role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha to be launched in August 2011 Annayum Rasoolum which is a romance film directed by Rajeeev Ravi, made in 2013, marked the actress's Malayalam debut.
